St Pancras Grand
St Pancras Grand restaurant is situated within the regenerated St Pancras International Station on the upper concourse. The restaurant is divided into three definable sections including an oyster bar, a pre-dinner bar and main dining area taking over 200 covers. My role on the project included creating the new identity design, signage, packaging and internal communications.
The interior was designed by Martin Brudnizki Design Studio and took inspiration from classic railway brasseries. In keeping with this direction the branding was informed by the golden age of 1920s rail travel. The identity combined the boldness and the more luxurious details of the era, balancing both strength and refinement. The logotype also took inspiration from the work of Lawrence Weiner, whose bold unapologetic typographic executions were a perfect fit for the project. The logotype’s outlined stencil rendering in brass, softened and refined this and balanced with a simple sans serif added the necessary modernity to the identities palette.
